Position Description

Serco Canada Inc. is a Service System Manager for Employment Services in the Province of Ontario and is committed to helping jobseekers in Ontario find meaningful employment opportunities through the EmployNext program. We are dedicated to supporting individuals in their journey towards sustainable employment via personalized services and innovative solutions.

 

The Better Jobs Ontario program is an application-based grant initiative that provides unemployed individuals with financial assistance for skills training of up to 52 weeks in duration. The goal is to help participants transition into high-skill, in-demand occupations. This program is available to individuals who are unemployed, have been laid off, or come from low-income households and are experiencing challenges attaching to the labour market.

 

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Better Jobs Ontario Specialist to join our team. This role is pivotal in supporting individuals through the initial stages of the Better Jobs Ontario program. The successful candidate will guide clients through the assessment process, determine their eligibility and suitability for the program, and help them identify the most appropriate training programs and educational institutions to support their career goals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments with clients remotely to determine eligibility and suitability for the Better Jobs Ontario program.
  • Guide clients through the application process, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Collaborate with clients to identify career goals and recommend suitable training programs and colleges.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of eligible training providers and program offerings.
  • Refer clients to the appropriate Employment Service Provider.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with organizational and program guidelines.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in career development, social services, education, or a related field.
  • Experience in employment services, career counseling, or program administration is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the Better Jobs Ontario program or similar government-funded training initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple client files simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and client management systems.
